Tura Head Coastal Reserve
Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking community input about the current and future management of the Tura Head Coastal Reserve, including vegetation and biodiversity management; recreation asset management (including provision) and bushfire hazard management. If you’d like to have a say, fill out their short online survey here by Monday 7 August at 4pm.
Coastal Management Program
A Bega Valley Shire wide Management Program is being developed to address coastal hazards, as well as separate Management Programs for a range of estuaries including Wallaga Lake, Bermagui River, Back Lake, Merimbula Lake and Lake Curalo. When complete, these will guide Council’s future work to improve our coastal environment, reduce risks to natural and built assets, and maintain the value of this stretch of the NSW coast.
Council is currently running a survey to gather information from the community about usage and management of our beaches, and to understand how you would like to see Council managing coastal hazards in the future. You can read more information, join a mailing list to receive updates about the Coastal Management Program and invitations to upcoming events, or have your say by clicking here.
