If you’re a new landholder who is thinking about managing your native vegetation with the help of livestock such as sheep, goats or cattle, or just wanting to start out in livestock production, there are several free information days being run by South East Local Land Services over the next few months to give you a better understanding of animal welfare, biosecurity, nutrition and marketing issues.
The half-day session will cover the rules and systems used in livestock production and why they are there. Learn why you need a Property Identification Code (PIC), how to record stock movements (for cattle, sheep and goats) on the National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS) database, what Meat and Livestock Australia can do for you and more.
The information sessions will run on the following dates from 9am-1pm:
Batemans Bay: Friday April 8, Monday June 6, Friday September 16, Monday November 28
Bega: Monday April 11, Friday June 10, Monday September 12, Friday December 9
